Hey folks. A quick update!
I have completed my first real load for the company. I picked up in Reading PA and went to Green Bay WI. Home of the Packers! Didn't see no packers though. didnt see much of anything as I wasn't there long enough to sightsee. I emptied out and got my next load going to York PA. Just about following the same route back that i took up. Little differnece though.
I got the chance to take the Ohio and Indiana turnpikes. Shaffer doesn't let us run them unless it's important load and needs to be delivered ontime. That is going to change though in September. It seems that the company will be allowing us to run those 2 pikes, which is cool. Saves a lot of time not having to stop in every podunk town in the state for redlights, kids and wandering dogs...lol
Anyay, Just thought you might like hearing from me again. WHo knows when I will be able to update again. DOnt have my Sprint card active anymore, so my net access is limited once again. I hopeto have it working once again once I se ehow my finances willimprove or not with the new company policies.
I guess thats about it for now. EMail me at truckerllew at gmail.com or stop by and leave a message on ,Truckers Podcast Network

Hey Everyone. I bet you you thought you would never hear from the INFAMOUS truckerllew again...lol SURPRISE!!!!!! Here I am. I am getting back in the saddle again. Back to driving! I took a couple of months off from Shaffer to take care of some medical problems. Type 2 Diabetes sucks.
Anyway, I just figured I might start blogging a bit to see if it bites me again. Who knows.
I officilly went back to work at Wilmer Texas the other day. I spent 3 days in a motel room down there waiting on a doctors excuse to return to work Red tape from Shaffer TYVM!!! made me a bit irritated....lol.
After I got the OK from my doc, I got my company physical done. I passed it OK this time. I had failed it back in the begiinning of June due to my diabtes getting out of control.
The company put me and a few other new drivers in some rental cars and made us drive to knoxcville TN, stopping along the way to pick up a truck in Memphis and one in Lexington TN. The one in Lexington was a pain in the butt. The batteriy was dead after the driver abandoned it with the lights on. We figure it sat for month before we got to it. WHat a ain. It took 4 hours to get a service guy out there to get it jumped. The guy got lost twice trying to find the truck. No fun at all.
I am writing to coming to you from Knoxville, TN today. I am here getting my Shaffer truck from the Knoxville terminal.
I didn't even get the chance to drive it and it's in the shop! I got into it and started it up after pretripping it and the AC didn't work. It's in the T/A truckstops shop as the Acklie terminal is closed on sundays.
I hope I get dispatched tomorrow to PA. I have to go through through orientation again. Major pain...but its worth it. I need to start making cash again. Poor sucks!
Anywa, I hate to stop this short but I have to get to bed. Need to get up in the morning.
If you read this and want to see more, Let me know. Email me at truckerllew (at) gmail.com or stop by the truckers podcast network

I made an executive decision to fix the problem. I purchased a Sprint PC-5740 connection card. Its seems to be a pretty good card. It should give me broadband speeds in most major cities. Hopefully this card will give me the ability to get online more foten from WHEREVER i decid to park instead of having to find a Flying J truckstop. I will be able to do more research and produce a better show....hopefully.
It all depends on creativeness. I am not a very creative person but I have talked with a few people about things to do with the show. I hope to make these ideas come true shortly and I have the ability to do this now with this new card.
Anyway, I put up a podcast tonight. I hope to get another one up in a week or so.

Todays artists were:

Opening and Closing music by Powersteppers. Thanks Colin!!
I talk a bit about something said by Curtis Cross from Sleeperberth.com
I Talk a bit about a mistake I made with my Ipod. I wiped out over 4500 tracks by accident. I tried a few programs for recovery.
Handy Recovery Worked OK. Recovered 65% of MP3 Files complete with ID3 tags intact. Cost $30
PC Inspector File Recovery - worked moderatley well. Recovered about 15% of files complete with ID3 tags intact. Program is free.
Both programs worked pretty well. I think the problem I didn't get complete recovery is actually because of the way the Ipod encodes and saves files on it's hard drive. It recovered all the files but some of the files were scrambled which I think is the way they were encoded onto the Ipod.
Church Suppression and Excommunication
How is it right for any religion to tell someone that they can't worship? Worship should be done as God asks, not as the church demands. If a man wishes to be a leader in the worship of God, then he should be able to be a leader. Any religious organsiation that suppresses this does not have the interests of God in mind. Such is poisonous scab that is Organized Religion.

I am back to podcasting again. The old Dell Inspiron 1000 has been shelved at the house awaiting refurbishing. I now have a rental computer that I am using temporarily until I can see about purchasing a new one next month. I have a Dell Inspiron 2200. It is almost identical to the old laptop except that it has a DVD burner in it. This is only a rental though so I am not going to get too attached to it. I miss the old dell as I know it inside and out. This one has been used before though but most of the information of the previous user has been removed. Some stuff still remains in the root directory but nothing of any importance. I think I still may reinstall Windos XP and reformat the drive.
I want to thank everyone for waiting patiently for the next podcast. You Guys ROCK! Hopefully this won't happne again anytime soon. I am getting ready to upload the new podcast as I type this.
I hope you all enjoy it. Thanks Again for listening

I am supposed to be home Monday and I will be able to post a podcast from the house. My intention, when I am home, is to see how much the local computer place will charge to resolder the powerplug in the back of the computer. If it's too expensive, then I will not be getting it done. I don't really want to put a large amount of money into the Dell at this point in time. I wish it had waited another month then all would have worked out well.
I am planning on putting the laptop in the refurbishing shop at Dell in February. While it is in the shop, I am getting a NEW laptop. I am not sure what brand yet but I am seriously considering purchasing an Apple IBook. I may not purchase one though as Apple is supposed to be releasing the Intel version sometime this year. I don't really want to purchase a computer that will be 2nd gen in less then a year.
At any rate, If all goes well, I should be back online after next week. If it doesn't go as well as planned, then I should be back online sometime in the middle of February. Keep checking this site for updates. ALso, I would ask that you NOT remove me from your aggregator or from ITunes. This is a temporary technical problem and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.
You can still send me email and I will check it as often as I can but I wont have much time to reply. These darned kiosks are friggin expensive....lol
Thanks for staying subscribed and thanks for joining the frappr map.
I SHALL RETURN!!!
Enjoy the day and Happy New Years!

I'm still having some problems with the computer but I am suffering thru it. I got some new mics to experiment with. I purchased an ALtec Lansing AHS15. This headset seem to work ok and I like the fact it looks like a cell headset and has only one earphone. This means I can monitor how the audio sounds as I record it by plugging the earphone into the jack on the flash recorder.
I also purchased a Sony ds70p. This is a lapel mic and it seemed to work pretty well. It picks up a whole lot more background noise then the previous mic. This is OK though as it makes the podcast seem more real to me. I can't monitor the output though as it's a lapel mic and has no earphone. I think I can plug the headset mic into the flash recorder and use it to monitor, so this wont be a problem.
Rome set new rules on goldfish purchasing and care
In #31 I talk about the Sony debacle and how it wont work. Here is the news story and then another article on how Sony realized it goofed and is removing the rootkit.
in #32, I did some experimenting with the new mic's. I did a soundscene tour of me and the wife going to get a refridgerator. My car has some serious problems as you can hear
I Hope you enjoyed these podcasts. Please let me know if you like the new mic sounds. Email me at TruckerLlew@gmail.com

Sorry for the delay in getting the show notes up. I am at home and have been busy working on things. It's nice being home after 6 and a half weeks out. I'm not really happy with my company as I was supposed to be home wednesday morning but they couldn't get me home untile thursday night, 36 hours is a long time when you are burnt out and expecting to get home.
In this podcast, I talk a bit about weights and the legal settings on each axle.
I discus a bit about racism and why it won't go away.
I got a little cellphone jack headset converter so I can use my cellphone headset as a microphone. I was not real pleased with the results. Email me and met me know what you think.
I got to meet TruckerTom for dinner. We swapped trailers to get me home. He took my trailer and went to California and I took his empty trailer and went home. We ad dinner at the Flying J truckstop in Tulsa Ok. I really enjoyed the meeting. He's a great guy! Looks quite intimidating though....lol That kinda threw me a bit. I didn't get any pictures or record anything though. I look foreward to hanging with him again at the Podcast Expo coming in November in Ontario California.
I hope everyone enjoyed the podcast!

I apologize for the lack of shownotes for show 25. Things got busy and I was without time or internet connection while I was in the Louisiana and southeastern disaster zones.
I hope you all enjoyed my new promo made for me by Adam Raimer from MadtownAces.com

I THANK YOU Adam. You did a Fantastic job! I urge all my fellow podcasters to go check out Adam's site and purchase some services from him. He does a fantastic job at promo making and sweeps and all kinds of other podcast voice services
I read an email by Brendan. He discussed his work at Caterpillar. He helps assemble HUGE pieces of machinery:

I have to apologize for the audio quality of the last podcast. It was a more or less experimental podcast using my new mic and experimentation with audio filters found in Wavepad.
I read a whole bunch of emails and I have some new promos from Mike Dell from the Benzoid Report. I play an udio clip from TruckerTom concerning my last podcast. I didn't get the chance to purchase the new mic I want to get yet.
I hope the quality is better in todays podcast. Drop me a line at TruckerLlew@gmail.com and let me know.

I got a new microphone. I purchased a Lavalier ATR35s from Circuit City. It's a powered monoaural microphone. I need to change the file each time I download it from my flash recorder. I have to convert it from stereo to mono. Thas because it only records the left channel in my flash player. This is only a temporary fix. I was getting extremely tired of the clunking quality my headset mic was making. Let me know how the audio sounds.
I also edited the audio with a free program called WavePad. I was turned onto this product by Victor Cajiao from TypicalPCUser.com. He profiles it in show #49. It's a very cool program. I think I like it more then Audacity.
In This podcast, I made the perfect podcast but no one will ever hear it as I forgot to turn the recorder on for 47 minutes!... I feel like an IDIOT!!
I talk a bit about the difference between mono and stereo files. I also cover a bit on my ideas on how to fight rush hour traffic.
My company is changing the miles a bit from HHG Miles to Practical Miles. I talk about finances out on the road and carrying large amounts of cash.
I hope everyone enjoys the podcast!

I won a $50 voice package for my podcast rom Adam Raimer at Madtown Aces. Adam does custom voice packages and I have been working with him to custom create my next intro close and 2 sweepers. On a serious note, I have to recognize September 11, 2001 and its 4 year anniversary of this horrible tradgedy. In today's podcast, I talk about where I was on September 11, 2001. I think everyone can remember where they were that day. Its our generation's November 22nd JFK Assassination.

In todays podcasts I read listener email. I got mail from Mike Dell. He asked me about setting up a podcast teaching Ham Radio. I hope he does this.
I think it would be very cool to hear classes on this. I think Podcasting would be an excellent way to teach a class, as it gives the student a much more convenient way to learn the information. A student can learn at his own pace and whenever he feels the urge.
As is listening with Podcasting, The lesson can be learned at the students convenience. A lot of people will avoid learning things or having anything to do with a particular hobby simply because it's not convenient to them. Podcasting lessons gives them the PERFECT opportunity to learn while they drive to work or listen on thier break or any other time when they have the opportunity to listen to a podcast.
You can find his other site at FlightRadio.com. Thats a cool site for scanner listeners. You can find live Air Traffic Control streams to listen to. He also has a Ham Radio webpage at N7LMJ.com
Go check out his websites. I highly recommend them.
I had problems with my Air Conditioner in my Freightliner Century class truck. On my trip from Georgia to California I hit temperatures of 117 degrees F between Pheonix and San Bernardino. My Air Conditioner quit about half way across.

In Today's show I play a voice message from TruckerTom. He talks a bit about RAM memory and security from adware and stuff. He talks about Microsoft AntiSpyware which a is great antispyware program. I use this plus Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy. I also talk a bit about firewalls. Zonealarm is a great free firewall that blocks information both incoming and leaving your computer. This is better then the windows xp firewall as WXP Firewall doesn't stop information such as you personal info or financial info thats been raided by malware from being sent off to wherever by bad malware or spyware programs.
Porn is bad for your computer! I relate a story involving fixing my brother in law's computer.
I had a call via Skype with Victor Cajiao from Typical PC User Podcast He informed me that there is a podcast convention in Ontario California on November 12, 2005. Victor has a contest over at his website and will be giving prizes away for his 50th show. The entry information is on his website. Look for the shownotes for 8-27-2005.
I recorded some audio from the CB that is a textbook example of what I was talking about in previous podcasts. It is NOT suitable for my podcast as I try to keep this podcast PG at worst. However, If you want to hear a clip of this, I have it saved and I can email it to whoever wants it.

You can also use podcast catching software like Ipodder, Apple ITunes, IpodderX or Doppler. Once you download one of these programs, you can enter an RSS feed address like http://slapcast.com/rss/TruckerLlew/index.xml into the Subscriptions tab. Once you do this, my podcast will automatically be downloaded into your computer if you have the software running and an internet connection.
There is sooo much content out there. For beginning users, I would recomment using the ITunes to get a feel for how this stuff works, then if you like what you find , you can try some of the other programs . To find podcasts, I recomend taking an interest of yours and do a google search for the interest + podcast on the end of your google search term. For example, Try doing a google search for "Harry Potter Podcast" and this comes up.
In Podcast#13, I talk about memory and how it affects me and my job. I also talk about BBQ! MMM FOOD!! How to tell how good the food is by the price and suppliers.
I respond to a voice message sent in by Ken from McByrdbell.com. I explain a little bit about the origin of the term "73" in ham radio. I found this site that explains it a bit more historically. I guess I was a bit wrong in my explanations of it, oops.
In Podcast #14, I talk about routing on special loads concerning altitude sensitive freight. I had a friend who ignored the specific directions and went too high with his freight.
I talk a bit about the new hours of service ruling concerning split sleeper berth.
I go on a bit of a rant about ISP's putting caps on downloading files and bandwidth.

I read some Listener Email and I talk a bit about Ham Radio. A good site to check out about ham radio is QRZ.com and ARRL.org . One of the frequencies I used to talk on is 14.302.5 mhz. One of the drivers set a webpage at QSL.net/143025 I also used to listen to the ECARS net on 7.255 mhz
I read an entry from the online diary of a friend of mine named Tony Morris. His Story can be found at OpenDiary.com. You can search for TonyR in the diary search or you can click here
You can also sometimes find Tony on the message board at TonyRsPlace. It's an msn community. Stop on by and check us out. The new site has just been started after our previous group place disappeared from MSN. You can sometimes find Tony in chat on lytti.com. There is no java chat support available on there so you will have to donwload a chat program such as mIRC, PIRCH or MSN Comic Chat 2.5 When you donwload the program and have it installed, you enter Lytti.com into the server window entry. I am asked about my computer and if I have a desk. I don't have one at this time but I did some searching and came up with this
I talk a bit about how i have things set up in the truck for convenience. When i get home I can take some pictures and maybe post them.
I give some advice to Sleeperberth on how to not overdrive music files when adding them to the podcast. I use Audacity which is an excellent audio editing program. It can fix the overdriving of the file in post editing of the mp3

I have posted a WHOPPING 4 Podcasts today. I was offline for a while due to being busy at work. However that didn't stop me from recording some podcasts. You can find me at http://slapcast.com/users/TruckerLlew.
I covered a lot of territory in 3 of these podcasts. I also posted my promo on the podcast server so if you are subscribed to my podcast then you have probably gotten my promo.
In Podcast #5, I cover some more views on negativity and how some use negativity to put themselves in a position of authority. I also cover the media and how it is so powerful that it can't be trusted anymore. I also cover similar territory concerning the government. Patriotism and being patriotic by questioning the government and the people who are in charge.
In Podcast #6, I make an unplanned podcast. I read some listener email. I talk a bit about the podcast server and some new options concerning user stats. I read some email from TruckerTom and some from Victor Cajiao. I have some problems with my wireless connection being hijacked by another wireless provider. I HATE drivers who don't inspect and repair their equipment before dropping it at a shipper or reciever. I cover why I am wary around container trailers on the road.
In Podcast #7, I bought a new digital voice recorder. I bought a Sony ICD-XS25
I do some sound experiment and generally check out the recording capabilities. Later in the podcast I talk about a radio program I lisetened to by David Lawrence. He had a guest named Scott Fletcher and they talked about changes in the podcasting community. Scotts podcast can be found at Podcheck.com
I also remember s blown turbo and how the company does this wonderful diagnosis of the problem over the phone and how it almost cost them a truck.
In futureshows I will be playing music from

I hope you all enoy these 3 podcasts. Remember, I have a new email address at TruckerLlew@Gmail.com I have imported my contact list so for those of you who have emailed me previously, You are already in my contacts. I hope you all have a great day

I play some music from a musician from Canada named Peter Rooney. His album is named Crossing Naked and the song is named Long Tall n Sexy. They have an interactive chat channel at Starchat.net in the #RadioGetsWild room. He currently does not have a website.
I play my new Promo that I made using a bit of Peter's music and some sound effects I pulled off the web from Sound Dogs and mixed with Audacity

I have just finished listening to a podcast by TruckerTom and he has taken my last podcast subject and expanded on it. Some very interesting material there. I was NOT expecting this kind of response from Tom and it just BLEW ME AWAY that he would take the time to cover this negativity subject that I brought up. Many Thanks Tom. Here is TruckerTom's Podcast. You can either download the file or stream it or listen to my podcast on using the podcast collecting software I talked of. See above show notes for links to Ipodder
I have also just gotten my FIRST request for a promo to be played on my podcast
Drop me a line or leave a comment in the comments section. My EMail is TruckerLlew@hotmail.com
